All Whites - World Cup

RUSTENBURG, SOUTH AFRICA – A last gasp Winston Reid header deep into injury time earned New Zealand an historic and dramatic 1-1 draw against Slovakia in Rustenburg to leave the All Whites firmly in the mix in Group F at the FIFA World Cup.
With time ticking away and New Zealand a goal down to a 50th minute Robert Vittek header, Reid climbed high over Zdenko Strba at the back post to meet a perfectly flighted Shane Smeltz cross, sparking wild celebrations throughout the New Zealand squad.
The draw earns New Zealand its first ever point at a FIFA World Cup finals and leaves all four teams in Group F level on one point after Monday’s 1-1 draw between Italy and Paraguay.
“We’ve got a really proud dressing room there. We came across with intentions to make a difference and we’ve done that. I thought we played very well against a highly ranked team so I’m very proud.”

Matariki
Tane was so jealous of the bright shinning star, that he smashed the giant star into 7 small stars. Now you see them in the beginning of June in our skies. I believe this year is going to be a very good year, as the stars are shining bright.

Matariki
A women with six daugters.
Once there was a women named Setle and she had 6 daughters. One day the Sky god said: “We must bring that family up into the sky ,they are being very mean to us”. The Sky god turned them into stars which is seen every beginning of June.

Matariki
This is the story of Matariki and the seven gods. The seven gods lived in seven big houses. You can see their houses when you look up to the sky. The seven bright stars shine currently in the night sky. You can see it too in the beginning of June

Term 2 Oceans Alive

Oceans Alive
We have been learning about the ocean.
We know about sharks, dolphins, jellyfish and whales.
We have also been learning about Antarctica.
We have made our own dioramas about the ocean. I have learned that many sea creatures are in danger and need our help. We shouldn’t catch the baby fish. We need to wait until they have grown up. We also need to stop polluting our ocean with our rubbish and killing all of our sea creatures.
